~~I use DuPont SolarMax nylon developed for outdoor use and treated to promote superior ultraviolet resistance to the sun. It is the best available fabric for windsocks.

~~In most cases, while constructing the windsock, I double the fabric in the body of the windsock as well as the appliquéd pieces. This extra touch adds durability to the final windsock product.

~~Over my 25 years of experience, aside from using great fabric and extra care in construction, the best measure of longevity is where you locate your windsox. If it is in partial shade, it will last longer than in full sun. Hanging so it swings freely and does not have a consistent pounding also adds to its longevity.
